Young Danish Soprano Simone Victor was discovered at only twelve years old by the Royal Danish Opera singer Bonna Søndberg with whom she began private lessons. Ms. Victor continued to study privately ever since, mainly internationally voice teachers. She has been working with bel canto specialist Ken Querns Langley for the last four years.
In 2016, she studied with Maestro Richard Bonynge and the legendary soprano Aprile Millo at the Operavision Academy summer program in Busseto, Italy. The following year she sang the role of Manja in Gräfin Maritza with the company, “Polyhymnia” at Hofteatret in Copenhagen. She then spent the month of July in master class with soprano Mirella Freni, and in August 2017 was a featured Young Artist of the London Bel Canto Festival where she performed her London debut recital. While at the festival, she worked closely with Bruce Ford, Nelly Miricioiu, Maestro David Parry, and Roberto Bertuzzi from La Fenice. At the 2017 Copenhagen Opera Festival she worked intensively a master class with Gregory Lamar and performed in the “Star Shaping” concert with pianist Ulrich Stærk with whom she performs regularly. In October 2017 she debuted the role of Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana with Opera Nordsjælland in Copenhagen.
In August 2018, she will perform again with Ulrich Stærk, this time in the Ålborg Opera Festival. Directly afterwards she will make her Cadogan Hall debut in London again with the London Bel Canto Festival as a young artist chosen to sing alongside star soprano Aprile Millo.
Ms. Victor has performed well in competitions and in 2015 won the Audience Prize in the most prestigious singing competition in Denmark “Operaens venner”. She won the funen operaprize in the competition “Unge sangere” in 2014, and First Prize and the Talent Prize in the competition: “Unge spiller klassisk” in 2012.
Even though miss Victor debuted as Santuzza, she is at present focusing on the bel canto and lighter Verdi repertoire. She is currently finishing preparations on the roles of Lucia (Donizetti) and Violetta (Verdi) alongside other coloratura soprano roles.
In Summer 2016, Simone completed her studies as a young artist in the Operavision Academy in Busseto, Italy with Maestro Richard Bonynge, Aprile Millo, and Mary-Lou Vetere.
